Shelter Cove Advisory Committee is Off to a Great Start!

On Tuesday, May 31st the Shelter Cove Advisory Committee had its first meeting. Dr. Laurie Richmond from Humboldt State University and Henry Pontarelli from Lisa Wise Consulting got everyone up to speed on the fishing community sustainability planning process and provided some fishing-related data on both Shelter Cove and the greater North Coast area (presentation available here).

The newly formed committee spoke at length about needs for the future of Shelter Cove's fishing community while the FCSP team saved the thoughts on paper (more pictures available on Facebook).

Next steps for the FCSP project will include stakeholder interviews which are now underway, and a public meeting which will be set in either late summer or early fall (date is still TBD).
