Fish & Game Commission is Reaching Out to Fishing Communities

On June 21st, part of the FCSP field team trekked up to Smith River in Del Norte County to participate in a Fish and Game Commission sponsored discussion on North Coast Fishing Communities. It was a good group of folks which included fishermen from Crescent City, Eureka, and other points south as well as researchers, local government representatives, and California Department of Fish and Wildlife staff. We had a productive discussion and it sounds like the Commission is planning to have more of these regionally focused meetings in the future. The FCSP team was also recently interviewed for KHSU's EcoNews Report. We did a 30-minute radio segment which can be listened to online.
